Kathleen (KatySue) Tillman is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and Counseling at the State University of New York at New Paltz, where she has been on the faculty since 2008. Dr. Tillman received her M.A. in School Counseling and Community Counseling prior to receiving her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Dakota. Before coming to SUNY New Paltz, Dr. Tillman completed an APA Accredited Clinical Child Psychology internship at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children through the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Here at SUNY New Paltz Dr. Tillman frequently teaches Abnormal Psychology, Crisis Intervention, and Seminar in Psychology at the undergraduate level and teaches courses in psychopathology, school counseling, and child therapy at the graduate level. Her research interests include child and adolescent psychopathology, childhood trauma, play therapy, and school-based mental health services.
