Research

There are currently several things going on in the Child and Adolescent Psychology Lab.

First, I have a team that focuses on learning more about college students and adolescents with eating disorders. So far, we have investigated the effectiveness of programming for National Eating Disorder Awareness Week and have looked at different variables that contribute to people seeking help for themselves and for friends, when experiencing eating disordered behaviors.

Second, I am starting a research team in the Fall (that will continue for the entire academic year) that will investigate school counselor’s perceptions of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model. This team will also investigate what practicing school counselors perceive the training needs of school counselors in-training to be.

Third, and most interesting to me, I am starting a research team in the Fall (that will continue for the full academic year) that will focus on childhood trauma. The first study will seek to investigate the reasons that teachers and school counselors tend to under report child abuse in certain students.

All of my research teams are currently full. However, I will have a handful of openings for new team members in the future. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student who is interested in being considered for one of my research teams, please email me to schedule an individual meeting time to discuss your interests and qualifications. Thanks!
