Music

I composed the songs for an acoustic rock song cycle titled Whispers In My Mind. Many wonderful musicians played on the album with me, including Steve Gorn (Paul Simon), Gary Burke (Joe Jackson), and Mindy Jostyn (John Mellencamp, Carly Simon, and Laura Nyro). Dylan Siegler of the Village Voice gave Whispers a nice review:

“An American music that’s swallowed its twang to become both soulful and rhythmic, acoustic-based but unafraid to rock–and you’ve got a man exiled on Main Street when he’d fit right in on Austin’s Sixth Street.”

Prior to going solo, I toured and recorded with the European prog-rock band H.P. Zinker on Roughneck and Thrill Jockey Records. The band was reviewed in Sassy Magazine, Rolling Stone, Q Magazine, and Trouser Press among other publications and opened for the likes of Helmet, The Lemonheads, and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. My next album is written, but the time and funds for recording 12 Steps from Oblivion haven’t materialized, yet. Here are two of my favorite recording artists to listen to in the meanwhile: Harry Nagle & Hopewell
