Past Projects


  1. Going to China Summer of 2016 to:
    1. Present at 4th International Music and Medicine Conference from June 11th-14th in Beijing. Potential workshop would be on the use of MI and MIR in medical settings.
    2. To teach a 30 hours course in Yueling Music Therapy Service Center in Chengdu, China. With the title: MED-GIM Adaptations in the Medical Setting.
    3. July 2016: To lecture to the music therapy student at Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing in regards to the Music Imagery Relaxation (MIR) technique.
    4. July 2016: To teach 8 hours workshop at the Music Therapy program at the Conservatory of Music in Wuhan, China, on the use of the MIR technique in medical settings.
  2. July 2016: To teach the Advanced Clinical GIM Training Level III Module I in Barcelona, Spain for the first promotion, and will start teaching Level I GIM training.
  3. Beginning sabbatical in India. From Fall 2016-Spring 2017 I will be a Visitor Scholar at the Center for Music Therapy, Education and Research (CMTER) in Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, India, and for the second half of the year I will be conducting a research study at the Amrita Institute of Medical Science (AIMS) in Kochi, Kerala, India.
  4. In October 2016 I will be the Honored Guest Speaker at the 50th Anniversary of the Music Therapy Association in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and present a day-long workshop in the technique Music Imagery Relaxation Technique (MIR) to use in Medical Setting.
  5. I plan to present my research at the 2017 World Congress of Music Therapy in Japan and to the National Music Therapy Conference 2017.
  6.  Writing a proposal to teach a Selective Topic CMTE for Music Therapists that will teach basic Spanish language and songs to address multicultural demands in Music Therapy practice to be called Communication Through Music with Spanish-Speaking Clients
  7. I will teach Level II GIM training in Barcelona next January of 2016 and Level III module I on January 2017.
  8. Invited by Music Therapy Association of Baleares Island to teach 2-day workshop of MIR in July 2016A Music Therapy contract proposal for Woodland Pond in progress.
  9. Invited to present an all-day workshop in MED-GIM for the 50th Anniversary of the Music Therapy Association in Buenos Aires, Argentina in October, 2016.
  10. Pending approval for a year sabbatical and HREB approval to do a research study in Kochi, India.
  11. In progress to receive a Per Diem contract with The Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley. The contract is expected to be signed February 2016.
  12. In the process of translating the English booklets of the GIM training program.
  13. I am planning to attend the National Music Therapy Conference in November 2015.
  14. I have submitted a GIM article for revision, “The Power of Imagery in The Bonny Method: A Case Study.” Currently awaiting feedback.
  15. I am in the process of submitting a research paper titled “An Analysis of Music Therapy Graduate Students’ Theses at SUNY New Paltz.”
  16. I am planning to submit a proposal to the College Curriculum Committee this coming year for the course called, “Music and Imagery in Psychiatry and Medical, Addressing Adults and Children.”
  17. I have applied to become a Primary Trainer in The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music and expect to be approved on February 2016. Once I receive the credentials, I am planning to write a course proposal to be endorsed by the Association for Music and Imagery to offer GIM training at the college.
  18. I have international affairs negotiations in progress with the University of Limerick in Ireland, as well as the Center for Music Therapy, Education and Research (CMTER) in Pondicherry, India, and the Music Therapy Program in Shanghai, China.
  19. I have contacted Sandra Cassese at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Sandra is the nurse manager on the Oncology Ward, and she has shown interest in the past in doing a research study at the hospital. At present I am waiting for her response.
